Yes. If you hold a recognised specialist qualification from your home country, you can apply through the Specialist Pathway. Your qualifications are assessed by the relevant Australian specialist medical college — not through the AMC exams.
How It Works
- Identify the relevant Australian college for your specialty.
- Submit your application with qualifications and experience evidence.
- The college assesses whether your training is substantially comparable, partially comparable, or not comparable.
- You may need supervised practice or additional assessments depending on the outcome.
- Once approved, apply for specialist registration through AHPRA.
